Garreth Barclay: The household Photographer

Garreth Barclay? There are many words that can describe one of SA's best photographers, but one word sums it up; IMPECCABLE. 


Here's the lowdown when I got to know how he got his passion kick-started.

How long have you been in the business of photography?
1 and a half years

How did you go about selling your first photograph?
In high school at an exhibition which had been set up by the photography society club

What initially interested you in photography?
The ability to capture art and moments within life

Which photographer do you look up to and why?
Greg Kadel- He is phenomenal at what he does

What genre of photography are you most interested in?
Fashion

What method of photography do you use? Film/Digital and why?
Digital, never grew up in the film era

Now everybody has a digital camera do you notice less work coming your way as people now think they can do it themselves?
Nope, quality will always prevail over quantity

What goal are you working towards within your photography, and when will you know you have reached it?
Goals are forever never reached as they change or grow bigger everyday as there is always something new to learn or do.

What genre photography do you dislike and why?
Wedding photography. It feels like something someone does for money not for the passion.
