The All American Pain Train takes on Zimbabwe's Answer

"I am cool, calm and collected going into this fight with Gorimbo."
Dave Mazany
The All American Dave Mazany commonly known as the 'Pain Train' in the mixed martial arts fratenity has become a force to be reckoned with on the EFC Africa scene in South Africa, having had most of his fights here. He has previously mentioned that Cape Town is his favourite city to fight because of the fans and all the beauty the Mother City has to offer.

Mazany who hails all the way from Anchorage, Alaska and training out of Xtreme Couture gym in Las Vegas oozes so much passion when he speaks about his love for fighting and the amount of work he puts out in training in order to make sure he is in tip top shape come fight nights. According to the his profile on the EFC website, his strengths lie in polished wrestling, being experienced internationally which gives a great advantage when he fights on South African soil and high level MMA skills. The American native is currently sitting on a record of 14 - 6- 0 since he started his fighting career in the EFC.

The L.A Dosage spoke to him briefly at the EFC63 launch on Wednesday night at the Grandwest Arena ahead of his fight against Zimbabwean, Themba 'The Answer' Gorimbo. The emotions were at an all time high when the fighters took centre stage, with some being given the opportunity to showcase some shadow boxing to the fans and give some insight as to what can be expected come fight night (Saturday, September 9).

Confidence and arrogance are always two words that are thrown around in the fighting circles and both Gorimbo and Mazany were boasting with extreme confidence of which The Answer's confidence or rather arrogance at an all time high, reminding the Pain Train about losing his Lightweight title to Don Madge and that he will be there to humble him.

"I am not sure if it's always about a confident fighter. If you are truly confident and have prepared all the right angles then the fighter is definitely going to do well.

"Now we have to see where he's at (Gorimbo) to figure if it is a false or true sense of confidence going into the fight.

"He is a game opponent and I believe he is going to bring all that he's got. I sense that he is emotional which can be a good and bad thing.

"I don't know how his emotions were leading up to other fights but we will see if he can control his emotions. I am cool, calm and collected.

"I have done this a lot and fought many battles and don't feel the need to talk smack. I don't have to talk bad about somebody in order to fight them. This is my profession."

EFC63 will see Mazany hoping to retain his dignity having previously lost a title but still remaining the professional he is and hoping he can get a win when he comes face to face with the Zimbabwean native in the Hexagon.
